- The Plitvice lakes consist of 16 lakes, joined together like a series of steps. The ﬁrst lake is at 636 m above sea level, and the last is 133 m lower. They are linked by waterfalls and cascades.
- The lakes mainly lie in a south-north direction, are 8 km long and cover an area of 2 km2. The deepest lake is 46 m deep. They are divided into two groups: the Upper (12 lakes), formed ofdolomite rock, which are broad and surrounded by a peaceful landscape; and the Lower (4 lakes)formed from limestone.
- The area around the River Krka has been declared a National Park because of its natural beauty and its geological characteristics (an area of karst rock). The river rises 43 km (as the crow flies) from Šibenik, beneath the best-known mountain in Croatia and Dalmatia, Dinara.
- The Krka is 73 km long in all, of wich the first part flows through plains (13 km) the second (40 km) through a canyon and the final stage forms lakes joined to the sea.
Plitvice lakes - Entrance 1
(north) – Starting point of tours A (time 2-3 h, distance 3500m), B (3-4h, 4000m), C (6-8h, 8000m) and K (6-8h, 18000m) or Entrance 2 (south) – Starting point of tours E (time 2-3 h, distance 5100m), F (3-4h, 4600m), H (6-8h, 8900m) and K (6-8h, 18300m).
Krka national park
either at Skradin city – romantic Mediterranean town full of narrow paved streets, passages, vaults and stairs or Lozovac which is closer to waterfalls.
November – March is low season and Plitvice lake national park entrance fee starts from 7 EUR in low season.
April – June & September – October is mid season and Plitvice lake national park entrance fee starts from 15 EUR in mid season.
July – August is high season and Plitvice lake national park entrance fee starts from 24 EUR in high season.
You can mix your Plitvice tour in a way that we drop you off at south entrance and pick you up in north one, for NO extra fee, and similar can be done for Krka.
To make reservation in some of the local authentic restaurants..driver will take you to any restaurant and for dinner and back..for free...
